The president's speech

I heard the president’s speech last night and the response from the GOP। I think President Obama is doing the right thing for our country. We really do, as a country need to listen and take heed to his plea. I am a mother who lives on Long Island and you know what? With the high taxes that are continuing to rise, all of our after school programs are cut. We are paying school taxes for what? The education of our children is our future. We need to stand behind this man because I simply believe that he is doing the right thing. We need more after school programs. We need places for our children to go and breathe. Some of us cannot afford the high prices of entertainment that are here. We need to find another way for our children to be entertained to keep them off the streets. Our children are being shot and killed because there is nothing for them to do. We, the parents are responsible. But what are we to do? Keep them locked in doors. It is fearful out there. I think the GOP is thinking on terms of saving themselves. Not to hit hard by this crisis that we are in. I believe when Mr. Bush was the leader of our beloved country, the GOP had no problem giving him full reign to money to go into Iraq any many of us lost loved ones. I can say this with confidence because of desert storm. There was no need to go there. People, we do have a fight upon our hands. And quicker we acknowledge that, the faster we can get this economy moving. We cannot continue to ignore education and healthcare. Our children’s lives are at stake.
